Light EFX-16

The Light EFX-16 (#LE16) provides on-layout light effects for 16 Just Plug ®* compatible outputs (intro video here). Each output is configurable through either a DCC (Digital Command Control) or LCC (Layout Command Control) connection. Using LCC to configure the Light EFX-16 will enable substantially more capabilities than configuring with DCC. Once configured, the board can operate via DCC or LCC, or standalone with a DC or AC power input. Feature highlights include:

Standard version (#LE16) outputs drive LEDs with or without resistors! 20 mA constant current per output.

"High Current" version (#LE16HC) outputs provide up to 250 mA per output with a board maximum of 1.8 Amps.

Each output has independent configuration for:

>30 different lighting effects such as on/off, blinking, “fire”, pulsing, fluorescent tube sputtering/flickering, welder, photographer, rotary beacon, emergency lights, chase lights, traffic signals, random on/off and more!

Brightness

Trigger via external switch, DCC switch command, LCC Event ID, or LCC fast clock time on/off

Group outputs together for complex effects (e.g. traffic signal, TV, chase lights)

Two RJ-45 jacks for connecting to the LCC bus

Optional input board (#LEIB) for connecting pushbutton or toggle switches to trigger the outputs

Optional output test board (#LEOTB) with different colored LEDs

Optional output adapter boards (10-pin IDC connector (#LEOAC)or 9 screw terminals (#LEOAS)) for non-Just Plug connections.

Optional relay board (#LERB) for handling high power loads (e.g. Electroluminescent signs, sound modules).

Input board (#LEIB)

Provides 16 hardware-based control inputs for the Light EFX-16 board. Use with either 10-conductor or 16-conductor IDC cable assemblies. Connect your own SPST (Single Pole, Single Throw) on/off switches. There are two pairs of connectors on this input board; each pair contains a 10-pin connector and a 16-pin connector. The two pairs are split between inputs 1-8 (corresponding to Lights 1-8 on the Light EFX-16) and inputs 9-16 (corresponding to Lights 9-16 on the Light EFX-16). The input board obtains its power from the Light EFX-16 board and communicates with it through the 6-pin header on the left-hand side of the board.

10-conductor Cable Assembly (#10CA)

	~24 inch long, 10-conductor cable assembly which plugs into the input board or the output adapter board with 10-pin connector.
	Easily wire your pushbutton or toggle switches (not included!).
	Mates to input board connector for EITHER inputs 1-8 or 9-16 (NOTE: you'll need two of these cables if you want to connect switches to all inputs)
	Conductors are 28 AWG stranded wire so use appropriate wire strippers.
	Conductors/wires are minimally separated at the end of the cable; CAREFULLY pull them apart for greater separation from each other!
	Refer to the input board instructions for color code assignment.
